Get Involved

There are several ways you can become involved with YCG.  These include:

  • A Sponsor: Donates financial or material resources to help support our programs or may choose to lend assistance to Field participants who have to fundraise some of their participation cost.

  • An Office Volunteer:  Lends their time and skills around the office in an effort to help our operations run smoothly while gaining some valuable experience for themselves.

  • A Field Project Participant/Challenger: A person who is a part of our groups of international and local volunteers who go into the communities to carry out projects.  Participants go through a four stage process that includes: application and interview, attending skill building workshops, fundraising in groups, a 24hr simulation of project life, going on a 5/8 week field project and undertaking community service projects in their home communities upon returning from the field.

  • A Field Staff/Group Leader: A paid staff who works in a pair with groups of 5-10 of our international volunteers.  They coordinate the on site work of participants within each field project group.  Group Leaders commit considerable time and skill towards the success of the projects they work on, as well as the personal development of the group of youth they are in charge of.  In return there is a significant opportunity for professional and personal skills development for these valued staff.

  • A peer educator: Works with the HIV/AIDS/STI Program team to organize and conduct fun educational and informative sessions that deliver basic HIV/AIDS information to youths in particular around the country.
