MAKUSI |
The
Carib-speaking Makusi appear to have been pushed into the north Rupununi
savannas by the Arawakan Wapisiana of the south sometime toward the end
of the 18th century. Their ultimate affiliation is with the Rio Branco
savannas of Brazil where their characteristic burial urns date to around
1000 A.D. |
