Out-Patient ServicesOur Out-Patient services can be accessed between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday and 8:00 - 12:00 on Saturday. Consultation services are provided, at a reasonable cost at our Out-Patient Clinic, to children, adults and elderly. Patients and prospective patients needing medical attention can come without prior appointment and ask to see one of our resident doctors . If you wish to see a doctor associated but not attached to the hospital, you can make appointments and payment arrangements through that doctor's receptionist.Tests and treatments prescribed by your doctor can be obtained from our Pharmacy, Laboratory, X-Ray departments. Costs for these services are available from each service area when doctors' treatment request forms are presented.

Emergency After Hours ServicesEmergency and after hours services are provided after 4:00pm Monday - Friday, after 12:00pm on Saturday and all day Sunday and holidays. Our doctor on call will see you and prescribe tests and treatment as is needed. Our Pharmacy, Laboratory and X-Ray emergency after hours services are also available upon doctor's request.

In-Patient ServicesShould your case require more than can be provided by out-patient care, your doctor will recommend admission to the hospital. Our Front Office personnel will be available to provide you with Financial information with regards to your hospitalisation.We have a one hundred and twenty-four bed facility complete with an Intensive Care Unit and two Operating Theatres. Our hospital accommodations range from fourteen bed wards to two-bed semi-private rooms, single bed rooms and self-contained rooms with and without air conditioning. Meals are provided by our dietary department at no additional cost and are prepared in keeping with your treatment plan formulated by your doctor. Our staff of competent doctors and nurses is capable of handling medical, surgical and obstetrical cases as well as peadiatric cases. Our Medical Records personnel are available Monday to Saturday and can assist with registration of births and deaths. Our visiting hours are as follows: Monday - Saturday 11:30am - 1:00pm 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Outreach ProgrammesSt. Joseph Mercy Hospital also provides outreach programmes in an effort to offer affordable quality health care to the financially less fortunate persons in Guyana. At present our main ongoing programmes are our Mobile Health Care Clinic and the Stemming the Tide Programme.Our Mobile Health Care Clinic provides 100% free medical care to persons in four areas of Georgetown. The Clinic goes on site two days per week, visiting each area on alternate weeks. Our
Stemming The Tide Programme
provides free counselling and HIV testing to all
persons desirous of being tested. Continued health care
is also provided free of charge to all persons, especially pregnant
mothers - with a view to preventing mother to child transmission -
and children, who are HIV positive and request to join
the programme .
