The Youth are a vital part of Red Cross activities in Guyana. Through educational classes, leadership building activities and community service, these young people will form the Red Cross in Guyana tomorrow.

mvc-008s.jpg (15282 bytes) The first aid services provide an avenue for many
people to become involved in Red Cross
activities. Not only is first aid a prerequisite for all
health education courses, these participants are the first to be called when there is need for disaster response personel.

Health education at the Guyana Red Cross
Society serves two purposes. It produces better trained volunteers to call upon in times of need and reduces the ignorance that can cause suffering especially in care of the elderly and young children.

The Children's Convalescent Home has been taking care of malnourished and abandoned children for over thirty years. These kids aren't just kept clean and fed but participate in an enriching programme of educational activities and field trips for a good start in life.
