Farms

Also referred to as the Vegetable Crop Farm, which supplies a large percentage of the vegetables used in the School's Cafeteria. The Farm is located on the Campus and occupies approximately 2 hectares. Some of the crops commonly grown are: Ochroes, Cabbages, Cucumbers, Bora, Tomatoes, Hot and Sweet Peppers, Pak Choi, Sweet Corn  and Broccoli.

Also referred to as the Perennial Crop Farm, on which mainly perennial crops such as West Indian Cherries, Carambola, etc. are grown. This farm is located on Campus and occupies approximately 4 hectares. Occasionally, intercropping is practiced with Cabbages and Hot Peppers.

 

 


Crop Museum

This farm was set up with the aim of establishing a Museum of Perennial Crops found and cultivated in Guyana so as to, more or less, create a gene bank of cultivated and exotic fruit trees in Guyana.

The livestock farm, which is located about 0.8km from the main campus, has four sections, viz: Poultry, swine, sheep, and dairy cattle. The farm occupies about twelve hectares of land. Facilities include a plucking house, a mechanical egg grader, plucking machine and cold storage facilities.
