STRUCTURE OF THE NETWORK

The Network of EMPRETEC Entrepreneurs comprises empretecos who have successfully completed the EMPRETEC Entrepreneurship Training Workshop in the various regions of Guyana .

Empretecos resident in each region are in the processof establishing Regional Chapters. The constitution currently provides for the following four Regional Chapters namely: Berbice, Georgetown , Linden and Essequibo . Each Regional Chapter will be managed by a committee and will report to a National Executive Committee.

The National Executive Committee will comprise representatives from each chapter and the EMPRETEC Centre and will be responsible for overseeing the administration of the Network.

The role of the Executive Committee will be to coordinate programmes at the National Level and to ensure that programmes at the Regional level are consistent with the national agenda and the EMPRETEC programmein general.

Associate membership will be extended to some members of the business community and Honorary Membership to reputable members of civil society.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

In the interim, until the National Executive Committee is in place, a Task Force has been set up to over see the management of the Network of EMPRETEC Entrepreneurs. This group comprises empretecos who have volunteered to carry the process forward. The life of the Task Force will expire on September 30, 2005 and at the end of the period the following shall be in place.

• A Registered, fully functioning dynamic organisation catering to the needs of the members as defined/indicated by will established Regional Chapters.
• A National Executive Committee comprising representatives of each Regional Chapter and the EMPRETEC Centre
• Finalised and Approved constitution
• Work Programme for October 2005 - September 2006

• Advocacy Mechanism
• Information Resource Centre
