| Training of young persons with disabilities in
vocational skills such as food preparation, garment construction,
and secretarial skills at the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities
in Trinidad and Tobago. With support from CIDA, CBR produced training
manuals and video material on disability and rehabilitation. The
material has been translated into at least 10 languages and sold
to no less than 30 countries.
Collaborative project with Ministry of Education and Building Community
Capacity Project (BCCP) in the Mainstreeming of children with disabilities
in 12 pilot schools in West Demerara.
Training of volunteers, persons with disabilities and rehabilitation
assistants to produce rehabilitation aids from locally available
material.
Support provided for the recruitment of a young man with a disability
in Region 9 to teach guitar music in the primary school in his community.
