| Since 1989 the AIFO (an Italian NGO) and the European
Union have been the main funders of the Programme. In addition, the
Programme has formed effective partnerships with a number of agencies,
organizations, and universities, both at home and abroad.
There are two types of members in the organization – Ordinary
members and supporting members. The former consists of persons with
disabilities and their family members, while the latter could be
any person who is committed to the philosophy of the GCBRP.
The structure of the organization consists of:
- A national committee of nine members elected by the Regions
- An executive committee
- Regional committees of nine members elected annual in the administrative
Regions of Guyana
- Regional coordinators responsible for the programme in the Regions
including the management of Community Resource Units (CRU’s)
- National staff at the headquarters including the Income Generation
Unit
- A coordinator and administrative manager
- A national advisor to the programme
