The fifth South Crescent August Games was once more the highlight of activities in Karaudarnau, Deep South.
Rupununi Achawib took away the 25 laps cycle race with young and capable, Mortland Richards, riding an eighteen teeth Monarch bicycle. They also claimed the 5,000 metre race trophy.
Karaudarnau, the host village, had to settle for the female 1,000 meters race. Aishalton once more showed their supremacy by running away with wins in 4 disciplines which enabled them to hold on to the much envied Champion Trophy for the fifth consecutive year. This trophy was shared between Aishalton and Awarewaunau last year.
Shea and Maruranau were unable to participate due to the unusual weather patterns that affected these villages.
The venue for next year’s games is Achawib.
