The communities of Region 7, Upper Mazaruni recently held elections for Toushaos.

The APA congratulates the following captains who were returned to their positions: -

Capt. Norma Thomas, Warawatta/ Kamarang Capt. Anderson Hastings, Kako/ Morowata Capt. Van Mendason, Phillipai Capt. Dutchell Isaacs, Waramadong Capt. Lawrence Anselmo, Paruima Capt. Czar Henry, Jawalla.

The above captains presently have the government in court in a lawsuit seeking rights to their ancestral lands. The other Upper Mazaruni communities are yet to have elections.
