The Aishalton APA Unit is once again up and running with the holding of recent elections. The following persons have been elected to the various positions:

Chairman – Edgar Casimero

Vice-Chair – Leona Spencer

Secretary – Ron James

Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Kateri Joseph

Eight other committee members were also elected.

This Unit has a membership of 91.

The Unit combined its first activity with the Village Council in celebrating Amerindian Heritage Month.These activities included competitions in muckru stripping, cassava grating, cotton spinning and basket weaving. The men were especially entertaining in their cassava grating skills.

Ants stinging was also a part of the activities. This is done to take away the laziness from the person being stung, to display discipline and bravery, and to improve hunting skills.
